LATICS BOSS WANTS TRIO

Wigan hope to wrap up their summer transfer dealings this week by sealing the captures of Jason Koumas, Marlon Harewood and Michael Brown.

Latics boss Chris Hutchings has been a busy man since taking over the reins from Paul Jewell at the JJB Stadium, signing Titus Bramble, Antoine Sibierski, Mario Melchiot and Andreas Granqvist on free transfers, and paying £300,000 for goalkeeper Carlo Nash.

Although he has bolstered his squad, Hutchings has also seen some senior players depart, with Arjan de Zeeuw and David Unsworth released, Matt Jackson made available on a free transfer and John Filan deciding to retire.

But he is now looking to finalise his playing pool for the 2007-08 campaign, and wants Koumas, Harewood and Brown on board by the end of this week to give them a full pre-season with Latics.

Hutchings has previously been thwarted in his plans to sign the trio having failed to agree fees with their clubs - and had a £4million bid for Koumas rejected by the Baggies.

The People claims he is now ready to put £5million on the table for Wales playmaker Koumas, offer £4million to West Ham for Harewood and hope a £3million bid is enough to tempt Fulham to sell Brown.

Henri Camara is widely expected to make way for the new arrivals and is available for around £4million.
