EGYPTIAN DUO SET FOR SPURS EXIT

Tottenham's Egypt internationals Mido and Hossam Ghaly are being linked with transfers to Middlesbrough and Birmingham respectively.

Striker Mido, 24, is reportedly a £2million target for Boro boss Gareth Southgate.

He first joined Spurs on an 18-month loan from Roma, and the deal was made permanent last August.

However, Mido made just 12 Premiership appearances over the course of the 2006/7 campaign, scoring once. He weighed in with four more goals in 11 outings in cup competitions, but with the arrival of Darren Bent at White Hart Lane, he is now fifth-choice striker under Martin Jol and looks set to leave.

Ghaly, who joined from Feyenoord in January 2006, featured in 21 Premier League games last season but his petulant reaction to being a substituted substitute at home to Blackburn in May - throwing his shirt to the ground - saw him fall out of favour with Jol and Spurs fans.

A switch to St Andrews for £1million could give him the chance to play in the central midfield role he craves.
