GORDON TEMPTED BY PRE-SEASON SWITCH

Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon admits his days at Hearts could be numbered.

Sunderland are reported to be leading the chase for Gordon, who Hearts have valued at £10million.

Fulham and Manchester United were also linked with moves for the 24-year-old earlier this year, and Gordon accepts there is no guarantee he will still be at Hearts for the start of the SPL season.

Hearts begin their campaign on August 6 with the derby against Hibernian, and Gordon is trying to keep his mind off the speculation surrounding him.

But he admitted: "That's a possibility, that I might leave before the start of this season.

"But it's something I can't occupy too much of my time with because I have to get ready for the start of the season.

"It's out of my hands at the moment and we'll need to see what happens over the next few weeks."

Hearts turned down one offer this week, said to have been £5million from Sunderland, and club captain Gordon admitted such a club would tempt him.

He told Hearts World: "That bid hasn't been accepted. If it had, I'd have to give it serious consideration."

He began his career in the Hearts youth team and is now firmly established as first choice for club and country.

Rangers were also suggested as potential bidders earlier this summer, however the signings of Roy Carroll and Graeme Smith look to have put paid to any suggestion they will make an approach.

"There's still a lot of time left in the transfer window," said Gordon.

"As yet there's not been a bid accepted from anybody so I've got nothing to think about other than getting ready for the start of the season with Hearts and playing to the best of my ability."
