LIVERPOOL LINKED WITH CHIELLINI

Liverpool are reportedly turning to Italian U-21 captain Giorgio Chiellini after failing to capture Gabriel Heinze.

Tuttosport claims that Liverpool have made a £5m bid for Juve's left-sided defender - who has been capped six times by the Italian senior squad.

Chiellini was recently named in the UEFA Team of the tournament for the European Under-21 championships but is thought to be available for around £7m.

Liverpool look set to miss out on Manchester United left-back Gabriel Heinze as the Old Trafford club are understandably reluctant to sell to their rivals.

The Argentine has made it clear that he wants to leave, with Real Madrid and Newcastle United reportedly two of his options
